Reliance Care Homes Limited
Christie Insurance insured Terilee Lodge care home in Eccles, Manchester. This was the first of two care homes purchased by Dr Venkat of Reliance Care Homes Limited through sister company, Christie + Co.
The Grand Union Group
The Grand Union Group is an independent chain of bar-grill venues and a pub-restaurant situated in London and the Home Counties. Historically, each venue had been insured separately with the insurance arrangements spread across several different insurers and handled by more than one broker. Christie Insurance established a group policy covering all the venues, which resulted in both a premium reduction of around 40% and significant administrative efficiencies. The group has subsequently added two venues to the policy and hopes to add three more, bringing the total to twelve.
Sectorsure Limited filling station group
Acting on behalf of Sectorsure Limited, part of the Trevellyan Group, Christie Insurance insured five petrol filling stations and arranged combined liability cover for other various group activities. Christie Insurance subsequently renewed this after Sectorsure acquired a new site in Finsbury Park, London.
Warwick Leisure Ltd
When Warrack Leisure Limited bought two well-known Perthshire hotels, the 28-bedroom Dunalastair Hotel near Pitlochry and the 13-bedroom Aberfeldy Weem Hotel, Christie Insurance successfully placed the insurance of the hotels to coincide with completion, as requested.
The Three Swans Hotel
The Three Swans hotel is a Grade II Listed former coaching inn situated in Hungerford and has been a client of Christie Insurance since 2004. In December 2009, Christie Insurance successfully confirmed renewal for a further year, saving the client over £2,300 pounds on his previous insurer's renewal terms.
Business protection life cover
Christie Insurance recently provided business protection life cover for a client with potentially deal-breaking medical conditions. The client required cover on a tight timescale but suffered from diabetes and had recently had an intrusive surgical procedure. Christie Insurance managed to source an insurer who could offer cover. By using all its industry knowledge, Christie Insurance was able to obtain the necessary information from the client's GP, which meant cover could be provided and the deal could be completed on time.
Hillcroft Nursing Home
Hillcroft Nursing Home, a care home providing nursing care to 28 residents with complex needs, had been a client of Christie Insurance since 2001. In November 2009, the client called to report that a central heating tank had flooded, and water had cascaded down to the floors below. Following Christie Insurance's prompt response, this claim was settled quickly with minimum disruption to the day-to-day running of the home.
The Barrington Arms
The Barrington Arms is a restaurant and bar with a capacity of forty covers. Whilst completing the deal with Christie + Co, Christie Insurance supplied a range of policies to cater for the new owner’s insurance needs. The client’s business was secured through New India and the cover offered delivered on both price and quality.
The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow, Shropshire
The Feathers Hotel is a 40-bedroom, 17th Century, Grade I Listed building. The owners have been clients of Christie Insurance for some time. Christie Insurance renewed the business for a further year with the current insurers, Fortis, with whom the owner is extremely happy.
Glass House wine bar, Leighton Buzzard
On 30 December, Christie Insurance staff were told that the new Glass House wine bar in Leighton Buzzard needed insurance in place for its opening on New Year's Eve. Within just one day, Christie Insurance sourced a great deal for the client, Dawnstone Management Limited, to ensure its new venture started 2009 without any issues.
