The multi-award-winning hotel was built in the mid-19th Century and contains many Jacobean architectural features.

Christie Finance facilitated the expansion of MY Care Group by ‘gearing up’ on four of its existing care homes and providing additional funding to purchase a further three. Christie Finance arranged multi-million pound facilities and instructed Pinders to provide business appraisal advice and valuations of all seven units. Christie + Co sold the additional three units to MY Care Group and Christie Insurance provided competitive insurance quotations for all seven care homes.

The closed Pendle Hotel in Chatburn, in the Ribble Valley, occupies a large site and has four en suite letting bedrooms, a car park, beer garden and children’s play area. Christie Finance funded the purchase of the property by a local buyer, who intends to use the building for alternative use.

Contracts had already been exchanged on the purchase, but a property sale had fallen through. Christie Finance's proposal was submitted to the bank on Monday and the purchase completed on Friday.

Christie First funded the purchase of the closed Beaconsfield Arms by Charles and Christine Appleton. They plan to refurbish the pub to create a more customer-friendly building and reopen, offering an ever-changing menu, Adnams’ and guest beers and wines by the glass.

Christie Finance funded the purchase of the Chequers Inn in the picturesque village of Elston, near Nottingham, by first-time buyers, the Fun Fair Brewery Company. The purchase will enable the small business to grow by creating a showpiece 10-barrel brewing plant.

Christie Finance provided refinancing on two learning disability homes in Brighton for a local couple who planned to expand their portfolio, and then introduced them to Arlington House, a residential care home in Hove. Christie Finance commissioned an independent valuation on Arlington House from Pinders and subsequently provided a further loan for its purchase. Christie + Co sold the business to the couple and was also asked by Christie Finance and Abbey to revalue the two original homes for loan security purposes. Christie Insurance provided business insurance for Arlington House and life assurance for its new owners.

Christie Finance enabled the UK’s first ever pub theatre to be acquired by the wife of its founder. The 120-seat theatre, located in the pub’s back room, has won numerous awards for its productions, many of which have transferred to the West End and Broadway.

Christie Finance funded the purchase of the Crown Point Inn near Sevenoaks, Kent, by Quercus Partners Ltd, which has since leased the business to managed pub operator Orchid Group. The substantial character property features an open-plan bar and two dining rooms.

Having been approached by Moorfield – the real estate investor, developer and private equity fund manager – regarding its financing plans on these three investments, Christie Finance was able to assist in securing the necessary funds from a leading UK bank.


Double Finance deal

Christie Finance assisted Mr Baldev Bhathal, a buyer from Middlesex, with the purchase of two established stores located in Carshalton, Surrey. Loans were secured with two separate high street lenders to enable Mr Bhathal to buy the Costcutter and Londis businesses simultaneously.

Christie Finance helped first-time buyers Tanja Lister and Sonia Virechauveix finance their purchase of Kylesku Hotel on the shores of Loch Glendhu and Loch Glencoul in Sutherland. The historic coaching inn includes a bar, restaurant, lounge and eight letting bedrooms.
