To mark the 30th anniversary of Philip Gwyn’s acquisition of Christie + Co in 1974, which laid the foundation for Christie Group, The Business of Adding Value, a book written by Nigel Watson, was published charting the history of the Group companies.
The book captures over one hundred and fifty years of history since the birth of the company, through its various stages of growth and development. It is a permanent record of Christie Group’s achievements and is written in appreciation of all our clients and all those who have worked for the Group, without whose dedication and commitment our ‘people business’ would not be the success it is today. This history celebrates and spans a period of great change – from relatively humble beginnings to what is now an international business; a market-leader in professional business services and stock and inventory systems and services.
Today, Christie Group operates under two divisions - "Professional Business Services" and "Stock & Inventory Systems & Services". It has offices in Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Spain and the UK, and does business predominately in Europe and North America. It employs up to 1,200 professional and specialist staff.
