WH Smith benefits from Orridge stocktaking
High street retailer, WH Smith, manages a vast product range covering stationery, newspapers, magazines, books, confectionery, gifts and music. It uses Orridge for stocktaking across its network of over 540 stores. Using such an experienced company avoids disruption to store trading, ensures reliability and creates accurate reports; and the use of cutting-edge technology enables flexible counts highlighting shrinkage percentages on particular products.
Orridge helps Wilkinson control costs and increase sales
Wilkinson provides 25,000 quality products and serves over 4 million customers every week through 300 stores. Orridge counts bring the company's stock files completely up-to-date and deliveries are adjusted to reflect the actual stock required. Both Orridge and the client are working together to deliver a bespoke stocktaking system, which is helping to control costs and increase sales.
Real time counts for Boots
When Boots implemented plans to improve its in-house stocktaking system, the high street retailer called on Orridge. Using Boots' own technology and processes Orridge provide the staff to conduct full stocktakes. Boots benefit by receiving efficient and independent counts and are able to oversee and monitor the counts in real time, thereby enabling their staff to concentrate on sales.
Food for thought for Co-op
Thirteen months of negotiations, tough competition and a three-month trial in 100 stores won Orridge a long-term contract with the Co-op. Over 45 employees were transferred from the original Co-op stocktaking team. The Orridge service replicates Co-op's processes and delivers numerous benefits including greater efficiency and Orridge ownership of equipment and support costs.
WE, at Orridge, count
European Fashion Retailer, WE International, has over 200 stores in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Switzerland. The company nominated Orridge as its regular supplier for full store stocktaking. The benefits for the client are accurate, reliable, standardised counts that can be trusted. This was a great Orridge success story, and helps strengthen its business in Europe.
Orridge is a shining example
Orridge helped a large well-known accessory retailer implement new data management systems designed to help it identify all “out of season” stock and highlight those products that are in stock but not on the shop floor. The resulting pinpoint accuracy produced considerable cost savings. The use of Radio Frequency Technology, and the on-going development of new software, enable Orridge to provide clients with an array of reports, many of which can be customised to their individual needs.
High street stock redistributed
A large blue chip retailer required full audits of its entire estate comprising hundreds of high street stores. The schedule of works was completed within three months, starting four weeks after the order was confirmed. Not only did Orridge complete the counts in this period, but unwanted stock was also cleared from the stores' shop floors and stockrooms and sorted into one of four categories automatically. This enabled the client to redistribute the stock correctly and accurately throughout the business.
Orridge dispenses stocktaking solution
A major pharmacy chain asked Orridge to complete 70 full store counts from its estate. This was the first time the organisation had outsourced its stocktaking requirements which necessitated an electronic file to be uploaded to its central systems. The dispensing and over-the-counter stock were presented in differing formats but allowed the data to be uploaded directly. Since the project, Orridge has been awarded additional work beyond the initial roll-out and supporting internal stocktaking teams.
